Feb 18, 2022
Swiss consumer goods company Nestlé increased its pet food sales from CHF14 bn to CHF15.556 bn last year, according to its annual report for 2021. As in the previous year, pet food made a major contribution to the group's organic growth of 7.5 per cent.

In all regions, i.e. AMS (including USA, Canada, Brazil and Mexico), EMENA (Europe, Middle East and North Africa) and parts of AOA (including China, India, Japan, Australia), sales of Purina petcare products each grew double-digit compared to 2020. In Europe and North America, demand for premium petcare was particularly strong.

In Europe, Nestlé Purina saw particularly strong growth in online and pet retail, according to the annual report. Sales of the two acquired companies, Tails.com and Terra Canis, increased by almost 40 per cent.
